February Misc

Feb Misc...

We bought KK a car.  A girl in our ward was leaving on her mission and sold us her car.  It is a cute toyota Yaris.  Trev has a client who owns a body shop so they did some work.  They painted it, changed brakes and the timing belt and a bunch of other stuff so it is like new.  She didn't like not having it for a couple of weeks but luckily got it back just in the nick of time to take her driving test in it.

KK and her friends shenanigans in a gas station parking lot after getting ice cream.

We took my mom out to dinner for her bday.  Her favorite is red lobster so that where we went.

Life Update

I am so glad to see 2020 in the past.  Hopefully this year brings bigger and better things.

Trevor is on track to make partner in the next few months.  This will be a blessing and somewhat of an adjustment  It will be nice for him to not be so busy and not so stressed to make billable hours, but it will also mean our pay is lowered (at least for the first little bit) so we will have to live on a tighter budget.  He just started coaching the twins and Aidans soccer teams.

Me...I just got released as Young Women's President. I have been in there many years and so it will be a nice change of pace. I also think KK will love not having me around all the time.  I home school Corbin so that keeps me busy.  It will be interesting to see what the next few years bring my way.

KK is still doing school online but the school district is talking about starting back 2 days a week for the last 6 weeks of school. She started in person seminary just 2 days a week but that will go to 4 starting next week.  She also just started rec soccer and is loving it.  They approved sports for the spring so she should be starting track at the beginning of April.  She has her permit and is anxious to get her drivers license soon.  We are buying her a car this week....a little Toyota from a girl in our ward who just left on her mission.  Kaitlyn is such a good girl and helps me out a ton.

Aidan is doing online school. He is doing really well and so that makes my life so easy.  He just started rec soccer again and loves being able to see his friends.  He has grown so much in the last 6 months so he is now 2 inches taller and has me beat by 30 pounds.  He is very helpful around the house and is always trying to make my life easier so he can stay awake later at night.  He has figured out...the nicer you are to mom the nicer your life is.

Corbin is homeschooled by me.  There was no way he would of been able to handle online school.  He has learned and grown so much in the last 6 months.  I will probably continue to homeschool him for 6th and 7th and then maybe will send him back for 8th grade when the twins get into 6th grade.  He is now a deacon and so goes to mutual and passes the sacrament. It is the cutest thing watching him each Sunday.  Can't believe how grown up he is.  He is my creative child and is always playing and creating things in his mind. He just started drum lessons and seems to really enjoy it.

Davyn and Jade were lucky enough to go back to school in October. They only go 3 hours a day but they go 5 days a week.  They were struggling so hard with online school so it is such a blessing to have them back.  They are in rec soccer and are extremely good at it.  They also just started piano lessons that KK teaches them each week. They are the best of friends and stick up for each other.  I love being the mom of twins and be able see the special bond they have.  Jade is obsessed with raman and so I taught him how to make it....now everyday Davyn convinces him to make it for the both of them.  I love watching them grow and become young men....makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Cousin Valentine Party

After Tawnya's passing, the siblings decided we needed to make it more of a priority to get together.  We set up family parties and sibling date nights.  The first one we set up was a cousins Valentines party.  It was at my house and it was a lot of fun.  All the kids brought valentines for the other cousins.  Its crazy how big everyone is and makes me sad to know they won't be little forever.

Aidan Boy

As your kids get older you take less and less pictures which is sad to me so I am trying to be more conscious.

I took Aidan on his mommy date.  We went to target and ate Cappriottis.

During one of Trev's Sunday lessons he had Aidan dress up in protective gear so we could throw balls at him so show what it means to wear the armor of God and how it can protect you.

Staycation

It has been a while since we have had a staycation. They are my absolute favorite because there is no packing or traveling but you still get time away together with no kids.  Toresa kept the twins and G Ma took the older three.  We had from Thursday Night to Sunday morning kid free.  We stayed up late and slept it.  It good to know we still like each other.

We did and escape room

At at an interesting food place...very good....but too small for my liking.  Trev had lost his taste and smell so he didn't eat much.

Walked around the strip and watched water fountains at Bellagio

Twin Date

I took Davyn on a date and Trevor took Jade on one and we ended up at the same place to eat....Sweet Poke.  We decided to make it a double date.  We ate in the back of dad's truck and then went to play miniature golf.

Visit Great Grandma and Grandpa

We miss living next to our grandparents.  With COVID, we have not been able to visit them.  They still have a lot of restrictions so we still can not come in to visit but on the way home from my sisters funeral  we stopped by and stayed on their porch while they came out to talk with us for a few minutes.
