Davyn's Shiner

I guess having two older brothers this was bound to happen.  Davyn's first black eye.  Corbin pushed him off the trampoline.

Meet the Mormons

We took KK and Aidan to go see the movie "Meet the Mormons".  It was a really good movie giving insight into 6 mormon families and how they live.  I will definitely be buying it.  While we were there my kids saw this and had to take a picture with it...

Karate

We got a coupon for a karate class so we signed Aidan up to see if he would like it and he does.

They teach him blocks, punches, and how to defend yourself.  He had a hard time at first not goofing around but he gets better with each class.  I love seeing him try so hard to master new skills.

Temple Trip

We hadn't taken the kids to the temple in a while so we thought it would be a good idea to go there after church one Sunday and have FHE.  It was a disaster and my kids were so loud but I think we get points for trying right...

This is our real life...

I am grateful I get to be a family forever even on days like this one!

Saints and Sinners Half Marathon

Two weeks after my Cedar City 1/2 Marathon, Trev and I signed up to do another 1/2 marathon called Saints and Sinners.  We were on the team running in memory of Alyn Beck (the officer who was killed a couple of months ago).

Trev hurt his knee during training so we only ended up running 3 1/2 miles and walking the rest.  It was long but if gave us a long time to talk and enough being kid less.

Enjoying the view on our race

Pirate Day for Donuts

I love Krispy Cremes pirate day.  You dress of like a pirate and get a free dozen donuts.

He was so excited to get his donuts. I think he ate 3 in the first few minutes.

Jade and Davyn loved them too.

Cedar Half Marathon

I was so excited to do this race. I had needed something to work towards to get me back in the swing of running since I took 5 months off after my last 1/2 marathon.  It was so much fun and a great excuse to get a girls weekend out of it.  We left friday afternoon and went to St. George.  We of course had to stop and food load for our race the next day.  We ate at Texas Roadhouse.  Delicious!!!

We then drove up to Cedar City.....

Hollie, Pansy, and I in front of our hotel

Hollie made our shirts....love them

Us waiting at the start line....it was freezing.

This is me about to finish the race.  I had nothing left.  Running 10 miles down hill and losing over 2000 ft in elevation was not easy.  I nearly crossed the finish line walking

I was so sad because I missed my goal of a half marathon by 13 seconds....I did it in 2 hours 13 seconds.

This is how I treated myself for finishing the race...a whole box of Buffalo Wild Wings salt and vinegar fries....and I did eat them all.

Prayers

I am so grateful for the blessing and knowledge I have of my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to know that I can pray to him anytime and he truly does hear our prayers and watches over us.  The other day, I got up to run at 5:30 in the morning and Trev was up to workout in our home gym.  I was running a little late (since I was running with a friend that morning) and as I was walking out the door Trev said let's say prayer.  I told him I was late and didn't have time and walked out the door.  As I was putting on my shoes in the garage I had a thought...you always have time to pray.  So I walked back inside and we said prayer.  I came home 2 hrs later to hear Trev tell me what happened and instantly become so thankful I took the time to pray.

He said he heard someone ringing the doorbell non stop at 6:15 in the morning which made him mad cause who does that right.  So he goes to the front door which is opening and closing a few times as he is walking to it.  He can hear a ladies voice and Corbin's too.  The lady is telling Corbin to go inside.  Trev opens the door to Corbin still in his pi's being brought back by some lady we have never seen. She told us she found him on the street behind our house.  I am not sure how but luckily he knew what house to come back to.  He said he was looking for me so he came downstairs(which he normally does but he goes into trevs studio and watches him workout), pulled a chair over from the kitchen table and undid the dead bolt and the chain we have on the door and let himself out

It could of been a disaster.  It could of been the worst day of my life....literally..... if someone else had found him, but I know it was because we had just prayed for him to watch over our family and keep them safe.  I know things sometimes seem like coincidences or just luck but I like to look at them as small miracles he blesses us with.   I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father that instead of that day being the worst day of my life it is a day I was able to see his hand in our lives.
