Wet n Wild

We went to wet n wild over spring break.  It was freezing water but the older kids didn't mind and the kiddy pool was heated so the twins didn't mind.  I sat here for hours as the twins went around and around on the slides.  The older kids were gone tithe their friends all day so I didn't get to snap and pictures of them.

I ran into one of my best friends Karisa while I was there so I had someone to keep me company.

Son Date

I took the boys out for some mommy time.  I took them to Buffalo Wild Wings so they could try wings for the first time. I thought they would love it since they love ribs but it was not their favorite but they loved all the TVs and were distracted with all the choices of sports they had to watch.  I can't believe all big they are getting.  I try to brainwash them into thinking they will always be my babies and I get to kiss them whenever I want but not sure how long they will believe it.

Corbin lost his first tooth

Corbin was so excited to finally lose his first tooth.  He was so brave and let daddy pull it out.  He was most excited to leave it for the tooth fairy to find.

Red Rock Hike

Over Spring Break we went up to Red Rock to hike. It was such beautiful weather.  We first stopped in the visitor center to get the junior ranger books for my kids to complete.

We then went to our family rock to eat lunch.

Afterwards, KK was the tour guide and showed us all that she learned when she came here last week on her field trip.  She showed us a back way to our favorite hike.

Aidan and Jade were partners and took it very seriously by holding hands the whole hike.  It was so precious to watch them.

We found a "spaceship rock" on the way

The hike ends in a spot that the kids can hike and play in sand.  We had a good time resting and exploring.

Mommy Date Night

Aidan and mommy date...

He got to decide what he wanted to do so we grabbed a little caesars pizza and took it to the temple.  We ate it and then walked around the temple.  He had to go there to complete one of his cub scout requirements.  He had to draw a picture of the temple.

After which we came home and watched the second Harry Potter.  We have been listening to them on the drive to and from school and when we complete a book we watch the movie.  It was really nice having the one on one time.   He is such a sensitive and caring boy and I am grateful to be his mommy!

Craig Ranch Park

We love Craig Ranch Park.  There is so much to do and it wears all my kids out.

Pine Wood Derby

Aidan had his first pinewood derby.  Trev and him spent hours putting it together and painting it. Aidan loved every minute of it.

They made a Star Wars one

He would of come in third place but on his last race his wheel came off at the end but he was such a good sport. I was so proud of him.

Leprechaun Trap

I hate school projects because its just another thing I have to do but this one was actually really fun and easy and Corbin thought it was the coolest.  We had to make a leprechaun trap so his call could catch the little guys.  We made a free slide for them but we didn't end of catching any of them...maybe next year!

Weekly Update

I am going to try to be better to give a weekly update to go along with my blog posts.  I want to remember more day to day things of our lives that we don't always capture with pictures.  I am hoping this will be a way to do just that.

Things are going pretty good right now.  Trev is working at Alverson Taylor.  He has just passed his year mark. He loves where he works and those he works with, but he hopes to go in-house with in the next couple of years.  He teaches the youth Sunday school class in our ward.  He definitely has a gift for teaching the youth and the kids love him.

KK is in 5th grade and is such an amazing young women.  She helps me so much and truly is my saving grace.  She babysits, cooks, helps with the kids, and is such a good big sister.  I got an email from KK's teachers asking to set up a conference with me.  They say they have some concerns to talk about so I am interested to see what they have to say.  KK has always done well at school and hasn't ever really struggled.  She plays the piano and is going to start soccer next week.

Aidan is in 3rd grade.  He is a very sensitive boy. He is very smart and does well at school intellectually but he has had struggles socially this year again.  He is working on letting things go and not being the boss of his classmates.  He started piano and enjoys it.  He also will be starting soccer next week.

Corbin is in kindergarten and loves it.  He makes friends very easily and has become the comedian.  We are working on staying on task and completing assignments since he tends to daydream. He loves to play with the twins and will do anything to make us laugh at home.  He will be starting soccer next week.

Davyn is in preschool.  He had become my very shy and has some anxiety when I am away or he thinks I am going somewhere and can't see me.  I have to make sure to tell him what room I am going to or he will run through the house crying for me.  He is a very sweet boy who will do anything to make his brothers happy.  He had started his whining phase and that is how he communicates with me most of the day.  I love that he still insists I hold him. He loves to ride his bike. He will be starting soccer next week.

Jade is in preschool also.  He is very social and loves to do things by himself.  He doesn't leave his room in the mooring until he has gotten himself dressed.  He loves school and helps Davyn be ok with me leaving him.  Jade does not like riding his bike and insists on walking while Davyn rides his.  He still sucks his thumb and loves to be held.  He will be starting soccer next week.

Our lives for the next 2 months with all 5 kids playing soccer will be really crazy, but I am hoping it gives the kids the outlet they need to focus on learning something new and to get some of their energy out.  Our Saturdays will be filled with 4 soccer games each week...Trev is in heaven since he loves going to the kids games.

I am still the Stake Primary President.  I love my calling and love working with the women I do.  It is not as overwhelming as I thought it would be. Primary baseball just started back up so that is where I am at every Thursday night.

Life is good! It is crazy and chaotic and sometimes I feel like I have lost complete control over my life and my 5 kids but the good more than outweighs the challenges and I am extremely blessed to be the mommy to my midget army and to be married to my best friend...who I love to be around more than anyone in the world...and after 16 years of being together...I call that a blessing and success.  He just gets me and I can be my self around him.
