Great Grandma and Grandpa

We just love our Great Grandma and Grandpa Waite.  Back in August, they got transferred from St. George to a VA hospital in Boulder City.  Grandpa go put on hospice so they wanted him to be closer. With Covid, we haven't been able to visit.  They just recently changed it to where we can visit but only outside.  They bring them outdoors for us to visit for a half hour or so.  It was so good to see them after such a long time.  Grandpa had a hard time speaking but his humor was still there.  It is so sad to watch someone slowly slip away.  We have been so blessed to have lived close to them and have many good memories of them.

Boxing

One of the ways we like to spend time together is by boxing that usually turns into wrestling.  We bought the kids gloves and helmets a couple of years ago and they come out every now and again.  I guess if your gonna fight you can do it safely.  Aidan has grown so much over the last little bit that I think it is official he will now be able to over power KK...which I think was a surprise for her.  Colton (her friend that is a boy) wrestled him and came out on top.  Aidan also had to take on his dad and it was a little touch a go for a while but dad still came out the winner...but not sure how much longer that will happen.

Mud Run

KK and I signed up for the Mud Run race a while back and have been looking forward to it.  Christina also signed up and accidentally bought an extra ticket so Brooklynn came along with us.  It was a lot of fun but not enough mud for me.  We had to improvise to make us this dirty but I guess that was half the fun. KK wants to do another one.

Machu Picchu Day 7 and 8

Our last day started early at 3am. We hiked to the sun gate and had our first glimpse of Machu Picchu. We explored the site for a few hours, ate at a delicious restaurant where the boys got a present from Michelle, played card games as we rode a train back to Cusco. It was seriously one of the best trips I have been on. We are so lucky to have amazing friends that we were able to do this with. I feel so blessed and lucky to have had these experiences. It was hard but so worth it.

We ended the 7th day with Covid tests in our hotel room and dinner in the lounge. We were exhausted but man it was such an amazing trip.

Star of our last day on the hike

The porters let you try on their packs to see how heavy they were.  Trev said they were so heavy

After our tour of Machu Picchu we ate lunch where Michelle got the boys matching undies.

Trev carrying our stuff to the train. He looks like he is on SWAT with all the masks you have to wear to ride the train.

Playing card games on the way back to town

Girls got matching shirts. This is us waiting in hotel room for nurse to come give us our COVID tests so we could fly back the next day.

The last day we grabbed some good pizza before we headed to the airport.  Our first flight was into Lima and we got stuck on the runway for over an hour.  We were tired and miserable but finally made it to hotel room where we slept for the night before we woke up early to catch our 2 remaining flights home.
