Dad has to go on a work trip to Florida for a few days and this was his view

We came up with a modern translation of the Articles of Faith to help the kids understand more simply the things we believe.

New Years Eve

New Years Eve was a little different his year.  Two of my kids are old enough to be out on their own so I was only with my 3 littles but that is ok.  I love watching the older ones make friends and build their own social lives...even though I see them less.  KK went to a party at a friends house and Aidan went to a BBQ and then the church dance.  

We had Whits family over as well as GMa and Papa.  We ate, played games, watched movies and played the xbox.  We were hoping for fire and spa but it was too windy and cold.  We nearly missed the countdown but glad to ring in the new year with these crazies.  

 

Grandma Waite Funeral

Oh how blessed I have been to know Grandma Waite and so grateful to know I will see you again.  It is crazy that 6 days ago we were laughing and crying together at grandpas funeral and now we are saying a temporary good bye to you. Over 66 years married and were only separated for 25 days in between each other’s passing.  I am grateful for the love and example you were to me.  You gave me so much encouragement and advice when I struggled as a young mother.  You kept it real by telling me all the times you hid in the car in your garage to cry it out when life became too much for you while raising little babies. You showed me what it is to love your family with your whole heart.  I love the time we had living down the street from you and our weekly walks to your house. I love how much you loved your grand babies and great grand babies.  There was never a doubt how much you loved them.  Until we meet again!  

 

It seems like we were just here but I guess that is because 2 weeks ago we were at a funeral for Grandpa.  It was a beautiful service and loved being reminded of all the ways you touched peoples lives.  I am grateful for my crazy family and love being apart of the Waite Clan.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

I love Christmas traditions.  Christmas eve we do Pho for dinner and then open PJ's.  The kids also decided to open their siblings gift they got for each other tonight as well.

Afterwards we went to Trev's families to have a Christmas program, open gifts and eat dinner.

 

Making Treats with Grandma Slack

Everyone year my kids decide for their present from Grandma Slack to be  a grandma day instead of a gift.  They love to go over and spend an afternoon making treats. They get to pick whatever they want to make and she teaches them how to make it.  This year we coordinated with Trista's kids so they could spend time with some cousins too.

Annual Gingerbread Competition

Our Waite Annual Gingerbread house Competition is always a blast.  Aidan was our announcer this year and his name was "Asian".  He went all out this year and he was hilarious.  We had Colton join us this year.  Teams were Colton and KK, Jade and Davyn, Mom and Corbin and Dad was on his own.
