Ward Christmas Party

Trevor and I got called to be on the Activities Committee.  Our first activity was the ward Christmas party.  WE only had 3 weeks to plan but I think it turned out awesome.

Trevor volunteered to be the grinch and I think he loved every minute of it.

Cousins making treats with Grandma Slack

Making treats with Grandma Slack during school...just another perk of homeschool. I remember growing up we would always make so many treats and then go deliver them to people.  I hope the kids remember these days.

Twins Piano recital

The twins started piano back in August and had their first piano recital.  They were so nervous but they did such a great job. I can not believe how much they have grown in such a short time.

VGK Hockey

Another VGK game in the books.  The twins love going and having daddy time.  They love riding the bus and getting dinner.  They said it was the best shrimp taco they have ever eaten.

Grandpa Waite passed away

“Irrespective of age, we mourn for those loved and lost. Mourning is one of the deepest expressions of pure love. It is a natural response in complete accord with divine commandment: “Thou shalt live together in love, insomuch that thou shalt weep for the loss of them that die.” (D&C 42:45.) – Russell M. Nelson

“Moreover, we can’t fully appreciate joyful reunions later without tearful separations now. The only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life.” – Russell M. Nelson

Great Grandpa Waite passed away on November 15th.  He was 92.  He was seriously one of my favorite people on earth.  I never really knew my own grandparents but I was lucky enough to gain 3 wonderful people when I started dating and then married Trevor Waite

Grandpa Waite was one those those wonderful people.  He was a man among men.  He never was afraid to share his thoughts especially about the gospel and his savior Jesus Christ.  He welcomed me  into the family and treated me like his granddaughter.  I have so many wonderful memories of him since we were blessed to live less than a mile from him for years and we would walk over at least twice a week to see them.  My favorite memory is of him playing hide and go seek with the twins and Corbin.  He would hide and when they found him he would scare and chase them away.  There was no doubt he loved his family and was proud of the legacy of his posterity. He will be deeply missed but I can only imagine the sweet reunion with his parents and siblings as he was the last to leave this world.

We ended the funeral with a luncheon where we watched and old video of grandpa with lots of bloopers.  We were laughing so hard.

Basketball

The twins signed up to play basketball for their school team. They had to tryout and they made the competitive team.  Davyn was a little nervous about this at first, but after a few practices feels more confident he can do it.  Right now they just have practices twice a week and games start in January.   My babies are getting so big.
