Davyn Made Lied Soccer Team

Davyn was determined to try out for Lied soccer team this year even though Jade did not. I was impressed with his determination and drive.  He made the team and became an MVP for more than one game.  He was one of their best defenders. They made playoffs which is not an easy thing since only the top two teams go.  Unfortunately, they did not make it past the first round but they had an amazing season.

We stared a new rule that tall electronics go ff at 8:30 at night so the kids either read a book or do a puzzle.  We have been doing a lot of puzzles lately.

I redid KK's room so when she stays with us after she gets married they are not sharing a full bed.  They now have a Cali King

Trevor and Corbin finished his car finally.  They added backup camera, upgraded the stereo and speakers, wired it for power locks and a full cleaning.

Stand up Cardboard

I love our missionary.  He has been out over 5 months.  I am sad he will not be able to attend KK's wedding but we wanted him to be present so we got a stand up cardboard to represent him.  I asked him to send me picture I could use to make one and there are the first ones he sent...no shoes! I had to laugh!

I told him I need them outside for better lighting and with shoes.  These are the second set he sent.  I loved his snow pants but he at least had shoes on.  

 

This is the final product...he gained a 1/2 inch so I am sure he will be happy about that.

Drivers Test

How do I already have another driver in the house? Corbin passed his test on the first try! He was so nervous, and you can never tell how it went because the DMV examiner gives absolutely nothing away. Then they call you back into a room to go over every little thing they marked off before they finally tell you whether you passed. Those poor kids have to suffer through all that suspense until they finally hear the words: You passed.   

That night we celebrated with Wing stop for dinner.  He drove for the first time by himself to pick it up.  How nerve wrecking but only one way for them to learn!

 

Church Dodgeball and hide and seek

The kids have had so many Mondays of no school.  On one of them, we went to the church to play dodgeball, chair soccer, and ice and go seek with the cousins. 

 

Corbin Snowboarding

Trevor takes each of the kids separately to teach them how to snowboard.  It was Corbins turn and he loved it.  He took to it so easy and says he loves it. They were able to get away two weekends this season but I definitely think he will be back at in next year.

A trip is never complete without good food so they stopped at our favorite Mexican restaurant in St. George.

 

Aunt Aileen Funeral

My dad's sister passed away last week so we went up to St. George to attend her funeral.  My Aunt Aileen was the Aunt I was named after.  She was always so kind and loving.  She was in her 90s and lived on her own until the end. I hope I am just as lucky as her.  

We stopped at a good mexican restaurant on the way home.

 

Girls Trip and Wedding Dress Shopping

I loved having 4 days to hang out with KK and go wedding dress shopping with her.  She is my only girl and it is surreal to have her getting married, but we love Mason and I love that she has found her person.

I flew in Friday afternoon and Bella, KK and I went two to two stores in Rexburg.  She found one she really liked and it was in the running to be a final choice.  

We had two appointment in Utah the next day so we woke up at 6am to make the drive to Orem.  We met Whit, Indie, and Andrea there.  She found a dress she loved but it was out of her price range so we went to another store just to see if she could find something there she would love just as much.  

While we were there, she found out her dress from the previous store had been sold.  Back to square one! She tried on a few and found one she loved.  She even found the veil she loved.  We bought the dress and ended the night with dinner and driving back to Utah.

Sunday, KK took Bella to the airport and came back to the Airbnb feeling unsure about her dress. I thought she looked beautiful in it, but what really matters is how she feels.

Monday morning we called the store, and they told us she could exchange it if she wasn’t completely happy. So we drove back to Utah so she could try it on again. We accessorized it with an overskirt and a veil. The salesperson was so patient and helped KK with so many ideas, really working with her to make the dress feel like hers.

In the end, we left with the same dress, just styled in a way that made her feel beautiful. We grabbed sushi and then drove straight back to the Idaho airport so I could fly home.

It was a long weekend, but one I am so thankful I got to be a part of. I am just amazed at her and the incredible woman she has become. It is crazy to watch a once helpless little girl grow into such a strong, confident woman right before your eyes.
