Big Boys

We have started going to the park every Tuesday morning and they have swings there that the twins love.  It seats two so it works perfect cause it helps to keep them sitting up.

They are 5 1/2 months now

Update on Life

Life has been kind of crazy these past couple of months, but isn't it always.  Here's the readers digest version of our life right now.

Trevor~ is still in law school.  He is in the middle of his second year.  He loves it even though it is challenging.  We are in the process of looking for a job for him next summer.  He studies all day and goes to school mostly at night.

Me ~I am getting a routine that works for me in order to get all the things I need to get done with five kids.  Now that Kaitlyn and Aidan are in school it is easier.  It is really not as bad as I was anticipating.  I truly love it.  Yes there are times I want to tear my hair out but for the most part they are awesome.  We have a good routine down with Trev being gone at night and they seem to like it.  I just got released from my calling as 1st counselor in the primary presidency.  It feels kind of weird to not have a calling but I am sure it will be short lived.  I have been training for the Ragnar race.  It's this upcoming weekend.  It has been tough since I have only had about 2 months to train but I know I will be glad I did it.  It has forced me to get back in shape after having my twins.  I run a total of 16 miles.  It's broken up into three different intervals over a 24 hour period,  It was a blast last year.

Kaitlyn~ She is in 2nd grade and doing so well. She is testing at a 4 1/2 grade level for reading and vocabulary comprehension.  She has always done well as school. It has come relatively easy for her.  She loves her teacher Ms. Simon and thinks she is the funniest person ever.  She has made two best friends.  Their names are Avery and Emma. She is my saving grace when it comes to being the mother of twins.  She is a natural little mother.  She does just about everything that I do.  She loves making them smile and she loves to read to them.  She is such a good big sister to all her brothers.  It is truly a blessing to be her mommy.  I love watching her grow into a compassionate, caring, independent individual.

Aidan~ He is in kindergarten.  He loves school.  He has an amazing teacher, Mrs. Cordner.  She tells me how much she enjoys having him in her class.  She says in all her years of teaching she has never has a student like Aidan.  She says almost everyday she goes home and says guess what Aidan said or did today.  He has a great imagination and if he doesn't understand something or know a word he will make it up and it usually sounds like it could be correct.  For example, he went to school one day and told his teacher he wouldn't be at school the next day.  She asked why and he said cause I am going to China to climb some mountains but he said the mountains name and she said it sounded like a name of what a mountain would be called over there.  He is so full of life.  He is just one of those kids who exudes happiness and joy.  He is always smiling...well when hes not whining.  He is starting to read good and starting to understand how to sound out words to write sentences.  He loves his little brothers and is such a snuggler and sensitive boy.  He loves to please people.  Sometimes he will empty the dishwasher and put all the dishes where they belong without me ever asking.  He is addictive to the Wii so I have to limit his playing time to and hour a day. If I let him he would play all day. He loves playing this batman Lego game he got for his birthday.

Corbin~Is my boy who has given me a run for my money.  I know it is because with me being pregnant with twins and with being tired on top of all my doctors appointments, he didn't get a lot of attention.  He watched TV a lot.  I already have a hard time with my kids from 2 to 3 because they want to be independent and defy you but they are not old enough to reason with so any discipline doesn't seem to work. So for about a year it is the battle of trying to get them to listen and follow directions with out beating them or having them live on their beds.  Anyways, luckily for me he is growing out of that stage. He now understands that it is better to listen and follow directions instead of getting the consequences that are likely to follow.  He is still a independent little boy but I feel like I can handle him now.  He is very smart when he wants to be.  His attention span is about 30 seconds but if you can catch him in a moment when he is actually sitting he will surprise you with what he knows.  He can count to 10 perfect and to 20 with only a few mess ups.  He can sing his ABC's, he know most of  his colors and shapes.  He is becoming and imaginative little kids when he is playing with his toys.  He is starting to love playing with anything superhero.  He loves Batman, Superman, and Spider man.  His new phrases he likes to say to me are....relax mom, your crazy, he hurt my heart (when a little boy hit him in the tummy).  I love this little boy.  I love this age.  I love watching him grow leaps in bounds in speech and understanding how the world works.

Davyn~ He is my little flirt.  If there is any cute girl he will make eyes at her and smile real big.  He is my happy boy.  He sleeps really well and I will walk into his room and he will just be chilling in his bed looking around but making no sounds.  He keeps his head up pretty good.  He loves his baby food.  His nickname is Chewy.  When he speaks he sounds like Chewbacca from Star Wars so Trev gave him that nickname.

Jade~  He is my chubby happy boy.  He is my thumb sucker.  None of my other kids were so of course my last one has to be.  It is in his mouth all day long. There is nothing I can do to stop it.  He loves his food.  He nickname is Frosty.  He can give you some pretty could stank faces so Trev gave him this name.  He holds his head up great and he rolls over all the time.  He sometimes even gets up on his back legs like he is going to crawl.  I have a feeling he will be a lot like KK.

I truly love being a mother even though right now it consumes my every waking moment but I know it is passing by way to quick so I am trying to enjoy the journey.

Potty Training

Corbin's potty training has been an off and on thing for the past month.  My other kids took two days to be full potty trained.  I haven't been very consistent with it so I am sure that doesn't help.  I just don't have any days in a row that I can devote to staying home exclusively.  There is always some shopping or carpooling that has to happen.  The problem is that when we are home he does great cause I let him run around naked.  He doesn't like being messy so he will make it to the toilet.  If he has any underwear on he will pee on himself.  Yes he still gets wet but it is more of a leak that spray.  There is where my dilemma lies.  I can't take him out naked.  I am hoping to buckle down over Christmas break and make it happen.

He is very proud of himself when he does make it to the toilet.

Stake Service Project

Our Stake had it's Annual Stake Day of Service.  This year we cleaned a big vacant lot downtown.  It was overran with weeds, trash, and tumbleweeds.  It was a good way to teach the kids to work and serve other people. It was hard work but the kids had fun.

Me with the twins ( I am holding Jade and Davyn is in the stroller). The twins slept the first 2 hours so I actually got to help but after that I got to watch everyone else while I held them.

We were there for over 3 hours but we could of been there for a whole day and still not of finished. My kids really liked it but were glad when we finally left.

Halloween 2012

I went to help in Aidan's class for his Halloween party.  He was so excited to have me there.

Here he is decorating his cookies.

We made mummy dogs and vampire teeth for dinner

Since we had already gone to two trunk or treats and daddy was at school we decided the kids would stay home and hand out candy instead of trick or treating.  They had so much fun that they didn't mind not getting more candy.

Corbin with no naps

KK stopped taking naps at 2 1/2.  Aidan stopped at 4 1/2.  With Corbin it is a constant question of when I am going to stop. If I give him a nap everyday he will be up until 10 or 11.  If I don't he will be falling asleep around 5 or 6.  I have decided that I will give him a nap every other day.  That seems to be the best solution, but if he goes more than one day with out a nap you are likely to find this.

You can't really tell but his mouth still has a bite in it.

We had just gotten home from church and he wasn't eating his food so we put him in the high chair and a couple of minutes later we come in the kitchen to find him passed out backwards.

Heres just a random picture. Corbin wanted to take a picture with me.

Ward Trunk or Treat

We had a fun trunk or treat carnival at our church.  The kids loved playing all the games.  I hardly ever get pictures of KK anymore cause she is old enough to venture of with her friends by herself.

Visiting Trev's School

We went to a concert for Jenni Oaks Baker.  It was held at Ham Hall at UNLV.  Afterwards we walked over to the law school, where Trevor attends, to show the kids where daddy goes everyday.

It was cool to walk the halls and see where his second home is.  Now I can picture where he is when I am talking to him on the phone.  Only 30 more months!!!

Somerset Trunk r Treat

I know I have said it before but I am going to say it again... I love KK and Aidan's school.  They put on a trunk or treat carnival.  It was so well organized and my kids had a lot of fun.

New Hair Do

Every time after I have a baby I get a need to change up the hair.  I don't know what it is but I all of a sudden need something new.  Trev has always wanted me to do red in my hair so I thought why not.  I loved how it turned out.

It's a lot of up keep so I don't know how long I will keep it but for now I love it.

Trevor wanted something different to so we added some blondes.  I didn't get any after it was done though.

I love my quirky man!

Aidan's Soccer

Our Stake puts on sports for our kids to play. During the fall it is soccer.  Aidan was so excited to play for the first time this season.  He has always gone and watched KK play, but he is finally old enough.  KK didn't want to play cause she didn't want to wear shin guards.  He has had a blast.

Aidan is #11

Great Grandparents

We are so blessed to have grand parents who lives so close.  They live less than a mile away.  We love taking walks to their house. My kids look forward and are always asking when we can go over there.

Pumpkin Carving and Painting

Our kids love painting their pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, but this year we took daddies pumpkin and instead of painting it we carved it.  The kids loved coming up with ideas of what to carve.  They did not care much of taking the pumpkin guts out but they loved eating the cooked pumpkins seeds.

Here they are taking turns taking the guts out.

I love this tradition,

Twins Update

It's crazy to watch kids grow right before your eyes.  I swear sometimes I put them down for their nap and when they wake up they are bigger. I just am so in love with them.  I could snuggle them all day.

Here they are eating oatmeal for the first time.

My babies love TV but if Davyn hears the TV he will crank his head all the way back to watch it.

They love being outside and going for walks.

They love their jumper and walker.  It allows them to stand up and see the world from a different angle.

I wish I could bottle them up and keep them at this age for a long time.
