Tunnel Hike

It is getting hot but we have to get creative on what we can do to get out of the house since we are still in quarantine and social distancing.

We went and hiked the tunnels at Lake Mead and played a lot of 20 questions and would you rather.

Quarantined

I love this thought because out of any hardship or trial you can find the blessings and sliver linings.

Its crazy to be writing about this because I know in 20 year this will be something people still talk about.  We have been mandated to quarantine ourselves for the next 30 days....and when I say ourselves I mean the whole United States of America. They have shut down all schools and almost all businesses that are NON essential.  Everyone is told to stay home and go nowhere unless absolutely necessary.  Store shelves look like this...

You can not go eat anywhere.  You can take it to go but you can not stay at a restaurant.  The strip is completely shut down.  No hotels or casinos are open.  The strip is a ghost town.

The kids have been home from school for almost 2 weeks now with at least 2 more weeks to go. I am not sure if they will extend the quarantine or not.    We have been doing school online.  The teachers post their assignment online and the kids have the week to complete it.  I am not going to lie. It has been a hard adjustment.  Not only having them home all day but to not be able to play with friends or neighbors.  The last 2 days I feel like we have finally gotten into a good routine.  The kids are doing better and don't seem to mind being home too much anymore.

We have had to get creative on how to keep the kids entertained.

We had a lego master competition

Boys playing outside and trying to make each other laugh

Playing NHL on XBOX together

We have gone on many walks, roller blades, jump on tramp, hockey, soccer, corn hole etc (boys have a lot of energy)

Here is Corbins schedule for the week (they did make some changes after I wrote this)

Some funny memes to help us get through

The craziest part for me is they canceled church meetings, closed temples, and no youth activities.  They also canceled all the kids sports and school activities....(all professional sports as well)  I mean we are at a stand still.  Aidan and the twins were in soccer. KK was in track.  So we literally have all day. Seriously it was hard at first but now it is really nice.  I see many good things that have come from it. WE are no longer rushing from one place to the next.  We have more time to spend with each other.  We have more time to focus on our family.  Trev is one of the lucky ones who still gets to work when seriously so many over night lost their jobs.  He is working less hours but our needs will be met.

I am so grateful for a living prophet who has warned us and encouraged us to have a food storage, to be out of debt, and to have savings.  We don't have as much as I would like but I know we will have our needs met.  I am so interested and looking forward to General Conference which is in a little over a week.  I know the world needs the love and spirit that will come from listening to these inspirational men.  It will be 200 hundred years since the 14 year old boy, Joseph Smith, received direction and a personal visit from his Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ.  He lives and hears and answers our prayers.  I am so blessed and grateful for this knowledge.

Dad's new clock

I loves Trevs ideas and hobbies he picks up.  My mom was getting rid of a clock and as soon as Trev saw it he knew what he wanted to do to it. It stared from plywood

Finished product

And now it sits in his office

Feb Misc

Feb Misc...

Aidan and I are training for a half marathon so we have been doing some training runs.

Nice weather so we play outside at night

Corbin eating some sushi

Dad's dinner of champions.  Mountain Dew and Pad Thai

Our dad got admitted into the hospital again so we took turns staying with him.

KK's shenanigans of entertainment

Catching one of my YW plays

There was a mother and sons activity with out stake.  It was glow in get dark games, food, and dance.   We even got to paint each others faces

KK's group of friends getting ready to go to a dance at their school.

Man she is getting so old...I wish I could stop time.

St. George Trip with young women

We heard about a Hank Smith youth meeting in St. George so we decided to make a day trip with our Young Women to go hear him.  It was Hank Smith, Brad Wilcox, and Madelyn Paige.  It was really good.

Afterwards we went to the park for dinner and to play before we headed back home.
