Aidans 5th Birthday

My little boy is officially 5.  It is exciting to see him grow and develop but also sad to see him lose his babiness and become such a big boy.  

 

He started his birthday with opening presents.

 

His new favorite thing to do is build legos (thanks to my sister who bought him some for Christmas).  So we bought him a huge box of random legos pieces.  They spent hours that morning building different things.

 

He then had his favorite breakfast which is dad's homemade pancakes with sprinkles.

We ended the day as a family having cake and ice cream.  Trev asked Aidan what kind of cake he wanted and Aidan told him a ninja cake with oreos.  Trev made him a batman birthday cake last year and it had crushed oreos on it so that was an added request for this year.  Random I know but what the kid wants the kids gets for his birthday. 

 

This is Phineas from Phineas and Ferb.  There is an episode of them dressed up as ninjas so Trev made a cake of it.

 

He loved it.

8 wonderful years

I can not believe I have been married for 8 years.  Just writing that makes me feel old, but if I have to grow old I am so thankful that I get to do it with my best friend.  I know everyone writes that but he truly is.  He knows what I am thinking even with out me saying anything. He knows when to push and when to let me be.  He knows how to cheer me up when I have had a long and exhausting day. He just knows me better than I ever thought someone would.   

 

I love him for so many reasons but here are just a few....

 

1. I love him cause he makes me laugh (most of the time when I don't want to)

 

2. I love him cause he makes me want to be better than I am.

 

3. I love him cause he is a great cook and loves to cook for me.

 

4. I love him cause he gave me 5 beautiful children.

 

6. I love him cause he is a great dad.  He teaches them how to work hard but also teaches them how to play hard.

 

7. I love his cause he works along side me and isn't afraid of a little poop.

 

8. I love his cause he is hard working and ambitious.  He wants to provide well for his family.

 

9.I love his cause he is interesting and is always wanting to learn about new things.

 

10.I love his cause he is a great listener and always willing to hear me when I need to talk.

 

11.I love his cause he is quirky and you never know what he is going to do next.

 

I am so lucky to be married to him for eternity and I can not wait to see what the future holds for us.

Flip n Out

My kids love this place and ask when we can go back all the time.  We bought tickets to go there a couple of months ago off a discount website but haven't had the chance to use them.  We have been busy with Trev's law school and with me having the twins.  Well since Trev was in between semesters and the twins have been sleeping through the night we thought it was a perfect time to go.

Mommy Time

Summer was kind of a blur...with waking up in the middle of the night to feed the twins and trying to get them on some kind of schedule.  I tried though to make special time for each kid. I never want my kids to feel forgotten in the mist of our chaotic life so every now and again we do Mommy Time.  It's time we set aside for an individual child and they get to choose what we do for a half hour.  KK had her Mommy Time and she chose to do some sand art.  She loves mixing the colors and taking her time filling up the bottles.

 

It was nice sitting there spending some good quality time together.

Ward Swim Party

Our Ward has an annual pool activity at the Mesa Rec center.  The kids love it cause there is a slide and I love it cause there is a shallow end that Corbin can walk around and play in with out any floaties on.

Swimmming

There is this awesome pool in a ladies backyard that she rents out to people for parties.  Andrea rented it out one Saturday for us to go and hang out in. There are two waterfalls you can jump off of, three slides, a bridge to jump off of and a volleyball net to play with. The kids were in heaven.

It was a much needed 2 hours of fun and relaxation.

Black Hawk Reunion

My friend Emily came into town so we all met up at the Black Hawk pool and had ourselves a little Black hawk reunion.  It's crazy to see all the kids together and all so grown up. 

 

It was good see her and catch up.

Corn Snake

Trevor has been wanting a snake for a little while now and had convinced the kids they wanted one to.  At first it was supposed to be KK's 8th birthday present but she decided she would rather have a fish, so he got Aidan on board and we ended up buying it for Aidan's 5th birthday.  As soon as they bought it and Trevor asked what he was going to name it, Aidan replied with out any thought....

Dragon 2000 of the deep sea....Dragon 2000 for short.  We still don't know where the name came from but it stuck.

Trevor ended up getting Dragon 2000 a friend.  His name is Loki (Thor's Brother).

Crafts

We didn't go very many places this summer because of the twins so we had to think up ways to stay busy at home and that included crafts. 

 

The kids had fun making masks. 

 

They also had fun making G Ma her birthday present.  They loved picking out the pictures to put in their tree.

4th of July

Our 4th of July was pretty low key this year.  We went to Trev's parents house to swim and have a BBQ.  We had Tina, Haleigh, and Cody join us.  After the BBQ, we lit some fireworks and ate some ice cream.  Nothing special but my kids had fun.

Aidan of course was scared and kept running to the front door to go inside.  He is such a chicken!

Corbin's New Bed

 We have been trying for weeks now to get Corbin to sleep in his big boy bed.  We start the night out with him in his big bed but if he comes out he gets put into his crib.  It usually lasts less than two minutes before he comes out smiling knowing he is doing something naughty. 

So needless to say, he never sleeps in his big boy bed...until the other night.  I put him in his big boy bed and forgot about him because he never came out.  About and hour later, I go in his room to find him like this.  I was in heaven.  I thought we might actually be making some progress. 

No so much....last night after we put him in his big boy bed, Aidan comes and tells us that Corbin did something bad.  He had pulled the curtain rod and video monitor completely out of the wall.  How am I ever going to survive this kid?  He is definitely giving me a run for my money.  I am just glad he is cute or he might not of survived this long.

Twins Baby Blessing

On July 1st we blessed our babies.  Our church starts at 1pm, so we had a Slack luncheon before church and we had a Waite dinner after church.  I forgot to take pictures until the end of the day but by then the boys were tired and hungry.  This was the only picture I was lucky enough to get.  I think it is hilarious but this is the real deal and how it goes at my house some of the time.
