Big Bear 4th of July

 We started a tradition a few years back to go to a cabin for the 4th of July.  We have gone to Duck Creek for the past few years but we thought we would try somewhere else for a change and decided on Big Bear Lake in California.  It was a lot of fun but my kids decided they want to go back to Duck Creek next year.  

My pictures uploaded backwards so I will be telling about the trip from the last day to the first.

We ended the trip with watching the Fireworks over the lake.

the last day we tried to go paddle boarding but got all they way there and were about to unload when we say a sign saying you needed a permit so the kids decided they wanted to go shopping and see who could come up with the best item on a budget.  We split up into teams and spent a few hours walking around shopping.

Discovery Museum

 My kids have been begging to go to Children's museum so we took a trip there after not going for many years

FSY

The church started a program called FSY for all youth over 14.  It is like EFY but now it is free and offered to them every other year.  This year KK and Aidan were able to go to St. George to attend the week long activity.  They were able to go with Brooklynn, Devin and Gavin.

I am grateful for a church who has these opportunities for youth to get away and be taught to have their own experiences to help their testimonies and their love of their Savior grow.  KK said it was one of her most spiritual experiences.

 

Wedding

Trevor became really good friends with people at his old firm.  Gena was one of them.  Trev helped her out with a lot of stuff in her life and became like a brother to her.  He was asked to officiate her wedding so we were able to escape for two days and visit Pioche for the first time so he could marry them.  

 

Treading Water

The kids love Gma's new pool.  They started a new thing were they see who can tread water the longest.  Aidan won but Jade was a close second...both of them treading for over a half hour.

 

Baptism For Dead

We were able to take the kids to the temple to do Baptisms for the dead.  I always love leaving the world behind and focusing on what truly matters for an hour.  I am so blessed with my kids and their friends/cousins.
