Summer Update

The first month of this summer has gone by really fast.  Here are just some of our "summer happenings" so far....

*We have gone to the free movies on Tuesday's at the rave theater

*Tami and her family moved to North Carolina

*Temple visit cause all of us were sick and couldn't go to church

*Getting ready for law school...cars fixed, home fixed and trying to get everything we need now before we become jobless.  I have been wanting curtains so I finally got them.

* We bought a new car since we will probably have our 4th kid in the next year and will need a car to fit our whole family.  It's a Chevy Traverse and I absolutely love it.

 * Cleaning up after this messy eater

* Aidan's favorite thing to watch...Batman

* KK's favorite thing to watch (really our whole families favorite) .....iCarly

* Chillin....I found them just chilling watching a movie

* Improvising....Aidan is in a new phase where he won't eat his dinner.  He would rather starve until breakfast....which is fine with us but he has to eat his vegetables.  Instead of it being a fight to keep him at the table, we put him in here until he is finished.  He didn't mind it at all if you can't tell by the look on his face.
We been busy but having so much fun.  I love being their mommy (well at least most days).

Learning the Violin

We have been talking about giving KK piano lessons for awhile now.  We knew we wanted to introduce different instruments and see what one she like but we thought we would start with the piano.  KK had different plans though.  A friend in our ward teaches violin and alot of kids we know take lessons from her.  KK just happened to be in the same class at school with her son.  Every time she saw her, KK would ask when she could start her lessons.  I just kind of blew it off but KK was persistent.  We went to a violin recital for some kids in our ward and KK was hooked after that.  We bought a violin and the next week she started lessons.   She is doing very well and is picking it up really fast.

Last Day to Wear his Uniform

Trevor has been a police officer for the past 6 years.  He started just 5 months after we got married so it's been all I've known.  It has definitely had its pro and cons, but we have been very blessed to have a steady job especially in this economy.  He has been on light duty for the past year so he hasn't worn his uniform but last weekend he worked some overtime so he put it on again.  It hit both us that this will probably be the last time he puts it on again.  In a little over a month, he is quiting his job.  He got accepted to UNLV's law school and will be starting in August.  I have dreamed about this day for so long.  It is what we have worked towards for the last 6 years.  We have sacrificed alot to get him through his undergraduate program, so we could get to where we are today. But as it gets closer to him quiting, I am scared and excited as to what this new adventure brings.  Inevitably it will bring poverty since we will be jobless for 4 years but I know it will also get us that much closer to our ultimate goal of finally being done with school and on to Trev's career.  I am just grateful I get to do all of this with my best friend and love of my life.

Trev with the kids on his last day of wearing his uniform

I am so thankful for a husband who has given up so much and worked so hard to provide and take care of his family. We love him!!!!!

New Hair Cut

I finally got my wish.  KK let me cut her hair.  I have been begging her to let me cut it for awhile now but she always says no.  It was just getting to long and with the summer and swimming her hair was constantly in tangles.  She has naturally curly hair but she hates it curly so we flat iron it.  As it got longer, it was harder and harder to keep it from getting knots in it and she would cry when I would brush it.  So finally one day she says lets cut my hair mom.  I didn't hesitate, right then and there I cut it.  I think it turned our cute.  Her bangs are finally at a nice length.  She has been growing those out for the past 6 months.

She loves her new hair do but I think she loves that it takes half the time to do it more

Last day of Kindergarten

My midget is growing up.  This is her on the last day of kindergarten.  She has grown up so much over this past year.  She went from a little girl so such an adult.  She loved school this year and especially her teacher Miss Bratland.  She would talk about her almost everyday after school.  She also loved to draw her pictures that told her how much she loved her.
She reads really well.  I mean really really well.  She can read almost any book and makes few if any mistakes.  She made so many friends this year.  She definitely has her dad's personality cause everybody likes her and wants to be her friend.  She is very kind to everyone but she is not a follower....which I love.  She has her own style and doesn't care who likes it.  She has been picking out her own clothes since the first couple of weeks of school.  I love this girl.  She brings me so much happiness.

Family Pictures 2011

When Jeanna Hayes takes your pictures, it is nearly impossible to go through them and pick your favorites....since they are all my favorites.  But since I can't upload all 200 of them I have slimmed it down to these.

I love this one of the kids holding on to daddy's legs.

KKs' six year old pictures

Aidan's 4 year old pictures (2 months early)

Corbin's 18 month old pictures

He wasn't in a good mood and didn't feel like cooperating most of the time, so I am amazed at how well our pictures turned out.

Kk's Kindergarten Graduation

It finally came.  The day KK graduated kindergarten. She will now and forever be a full time student.  I have to accept my little baby girl is no longer little.  As I look back on pictures, it seems surreal that she was ever so little.  It truly goes by so fast.  I used to get so bugged when people told me to enjoy it cause it will go by so fast.  It seemed sometimes like she would depend on me forever and I used to get overwhelmed, but now I wish she was a little more dependent on me and a little less opinionated.  I am going to try and take their advice now.  I need to enjoy this age and stage cause before long it will be gone, too.

It was a good day....it began with this

They sang us three songs which was so precious.  The songs were about learning and growing up.

I had to include this picture cause I think it truly captures how old and mature she is now.

KK waiting in line to get her awards.

Getting her award from her teacher, Miss Bratland (love love love her)

KK was so lucky to have her as a teacher.  KK came home almost everyday and drew her a picture that always included KK writing how much she liked Miss Bratland.

KK had more people at her Kindergarten graduation than I had at my High School graduation.  She is so lucky to be so loved.
Here is Trev's family

Great Grandma and Grandpa.  They gave her a very special jewelry box with jewelry that they got from Jerusalem.  KK always wanted to see and touch it at their house. She is one spoiled girl.

Great Grandma "G"

Grandma Slack

Four Generations....I love the way KK is standing and holding onto her grandpas.

Our Family picture...we are so proud of her.  She did so well this year.  I am amazed at how smart she is.

After her graduation, everyone went to Red Robin for lunch.  It is KK's favorite.

Corbin loves his great grandpa.  He will get a huge grin on his face when he sees them.  Grandpa sent most of lunch sharing his strawberry lemonade with Corbin. Corbin would say bite and grandpa would share it with him like this....

Congratulations, KK we love you!!!!
