Guy"cation"

Trevor has worked hard this last year.  It has been a 1st stressful year of law school, and he was so looking forward to a few weeks off between the semesters.  Since we go on a girls trip at least once a year, Trev and his buddies thought they should do the same.  So they did.  Trev has been wanting to learn how to surf so they decided on Ventura, California.

They left Tuesday morning and got there in the mid afternoon.  This was a view from their hotel room.

They took their boards out and practiced riding the waves.  Wednesday, they surfed in the morning and hung out on the beach.

Later that afternoon they went for a drive. They drove to Malibu and stopped at a couple of shops.  Afterwards, they decided to go back and surf for a couple of hours. It didn't last very long though.

Trev was trying to take pictures and got caught in a wave that tossed him around and flipped his board making it come crashing down on the back of his skull.

This was what it looked like when he made it out of the water.

This is what it looked like after a hospital visit and 6 staples later.

They had to cut their surf time a little short but they had a good "guys"cation anyways.

He says they are already planning next years adventure.

Kaitlyn's 7th B-day

It's official!  I am a mother of a 7 year old.

I like to make birthdays a big deal.  It is the one day a year you have the right to make the day all about you and you don't have to feel bad.  Trev used to make fun of me, but now he comes up with new ideas
This year was going to be the first year we didn't have a friend birthday party.  I thought she was going to be disappointed but she understood with me just about to have two babies that it was going to be impossible.  We still did our best to make the day all about her. We started by decorating her room while she slept so the moment she woke up she would know we were ready to celebrate.

She came downstairs to find this...

and she was so excited to open her presents.

We got ready and then headed to build a bear.  She had been looking forward to this for weeks.

KK placing the heart into the bear.

Giving it it's first bath...

Getting her bear dressed....

The finished product.....just so ya know the wings light up.  I think this was the selling factor for the outfit.

Aidan was so happy to take a picture with KK.

After build a bear, we went to In n Out for lunch.  G Ma, Papa, Peck, and Annabelle met us there.  Afterwards, we went to Yogurtland for ice cream.

The boys came home and KK and I went to get pedicures.

We eat Pho for dinner.  She could of chosen anything and she chose this.

Aidan excited to be eating Pho, too!

Corbin loves it but wasn't so happy for the camera.

Trev makes a concoction with his so he is concentrating to get it right.

We finished the night with cake and ice cream at home.  KK was very specific of how she wanted her cake and she said it was exactly how she wanted it.

Corbin likes his cake a little too much!

Happy Birthday to my baby girl!!!

Kaitlyn's 7 year old pictures

Where has the time gone?  How has my little bear become so big?  I love seeing her grow and mature but I am also sad because it makes me realize just how fast they grow up.  She has definitely grown up this year.

She was hesitant at first and complained when I told her we were getting her pictures taken but once  we were there she loved it.

I love this sweet face!

I love my sweet baby girl and I tell her all the time that she will always be my baby!!!

Corbin's 2 1/2 year old pictures

I can not believe my baby is 2 1/2 years old.  He is not such a baby anymore.  He is starting to talk so much.  He knows what he wants and if he doesn't get it he can throw a tantrum like no other child I have seen.  He is a monster, but it just makes me love it that much more. He is into everything, and I mean everything.  I can not leave him alone unless I want to come back to a torn apart room.  It gets so frustrating but then he smiles his cheesy grin and it melts my heart.

I love this little face.

Since KK and Corbin got their pictures taken the same day, I had them take some together.  He loves his big sister and loves when she gives him any attention.

Doesn't this picture just show how much he loves her?

I just want to bottle him up right now cause this phase is my favorite and I don't ever want to forget it!

Mother's Day Celebration at KK's school

I have said this before but I will say it again...KK's teacher is awesome. This year they invited all the moms to come to their class for Mother's Day.  They were prepared to entertain and spoil us.  They started out by having a book read to us that made me cry. (I want to buy that book). Then we played a guessing game.  All the kids had drawn a picture of their mom and we had to guess which one we were.
I am glad I have blue eyes to set me apart.

They then sang us two songs followed by each child having a turn to read a poem they had written about their mommy.  That is when I took this picture.

I am not going to lie I got a little teary eyes while she read it. She is such a smart, sweet little girl.

They finished by giving us a gift of bath salts while we ate our texas sheet cake and ice cream.  It was a fun relaxing afternoon.  I love my little girl and am so glad to be her mommy!

Springs Preserve

The Springs Preserve is awesome.  They always have cool exhibits that they change quite often.  This month they had an exhibit all about the moon/planets.  KK was excited to go because they were learning about the moon in her science class at school.

KK is on a machine the simulates what it is like to work out on the moon.

Corbin going crazy because he is allowed to touch things and not get in trouble.

We had to stop and get ourselves some snow cones.

The gardens were really cool because they had a lot of sculptures made out of trash.  Here the kids are standing in front of one that was made into a dinosaur bird.
An elephant

A cow and Corbin thought it was a horse he could ride.

We had to take a picture of the mermaid for KK.

On our way out, Aidan starts crying that he has to go pee but before we could find a bathroom he let it all go.

Just some of the joys of motherhood!!!

Service Project

Our ward had a service project where they teamed up with the city to remove graffiti.  Trevor took KK and Aidan with him.  Corbin and I went to the park because we were in charge of setting the food up for lunch so after the the service project we could have a ward BBQ.

Everyone meeting at the church in our spiffy yellow vest.

Aidan painting over the graffiti.

KK and Dad helping out too!

Gavin and Aidan taking a break.

Every time we drive by graffiti now KK points it out. The kids had a blast and want to do it again.
