KK Field Trip

KK was so excited when we figured out a way for me to be able to come on her field trip.  I am to busy with the twins to help out in her class on a regular basis, and at first I didn't think it would work for me to come and help on her field trip but she was stocked when I told I had found a way.

Her field trip was at RedRock

Here is us on the bus waiting to leave

Corbin passed out

This is what happens on the days Corbins skips his naps.  He fell alseep with his mouth full of fries and with his hand still in the box.

This is another day on the way home from G Ma and Papa's.  I just thought it was so darn cute with his arms crossed.

He is officially in a booster seat now and it is really sad to me that he could possibly be that old.  I want to keep him little forever!

Twilights last Movie

It has been a tradition now to see the Twilight movies the night they come out.  There is a big group of us that have gone to every single one.  The first three were at the midnight showing of it but luckliy we have the hook ups and the last 2 were at the 8pm showing so we didn't have to stay awake and die the next day.  The last movie was the best from the whole saga...definitely a good way to end the whole thing.

Here we are waiting for the movie to start...it is all three rows of us.

Trista, Me, Hollie, Nicole.

It is kind of sad having nothing to plan for but we will just have to start a new tradition.

KK's new Chore

I have found that if there is something that KK enjoys doing that I don't have the time to do everyday I can assign it to her.  She will remember to do it every single day and will do it without being asked.  One of her new assignments is to read to the twins for 15 minutes a day.  It it usually around bedtime.  She will read to one twin while I feed the other and then we will switch.  The twins love it and KK will do just about anything to make them happy.  She is truly the best big sister.

Here is KK reading to Jade.

Corbin 3 years old

I can not believe my little Scootie is already 3 years old.  It seriously has flown by.  He has grown up so much in the past couple of months which is nice but also a little sad.  Nice because he is listening better but sad cause he is losing all of his babiness.  He is definitely a little boy who knows what he wants and will do just about anything to get it.  He can be such a monster but then he flashes his cute smile and it's hard not to cave.

Taking pictures was a nightmare but you wouldn't know it from these few cute shots we got.  He spent most of the shoot with his hands covering his face.  He wasn't in the mood to get his pictures taken and wasn't going to budge no matter what I bribed him with.  I was just about to give up when the photographer said something that made him laugh, and he loosened up and cooperated for literally 2 minutes before he was back to not wanting his picture taken.  I was sure we only had one good picture but was pleasantly surprised when I found out that we had gotten a couple.

I love this little face and could kiss it all day!

I am grateful I get to be his mommy!

Happy Birthday to my little man!

Corbins Birthday Party

I had the brillant idea to have Corbin's birthday party at the park since I didn't think my house would be clean enough to have a party after my race weekend.  It was so cold that we only lasted there about 30 minutes before it was moved to my house.

Here are the pictures I captured of the kids at the park.

 I love my little monster!

Corbin 3rd Birthday

My Ragnar race was the same weekend as Corbin's third birthday so after my last run I came home instead of staying to finish the race with my whole team.  I got home around 10 am and then we opened presents.

Corbin with the crown his daddy made him.

My kids love having their pictures taken so when I was through taking Corbins' pictures it was of course their turn.

Thunderbird Show 2012

While I was running Ragnar, Trevor braved it and went to the Thunderbird show with the 3 older kids while my friend Hollie watched the twins.  It is a tradition he has done every year and he didn't want to break it.

My kids loved it and are so lucky to have such a great daddy!

Ragnar 2012

I ran my 1st ragnar race last year when I was 8 weeks pregnant with twins.  It was tough but I had so much fun that I really wanted to do it again this year.  I didn't know if I would be able to get myself back in shape that fast after having twins but it gave me a goal and purpose to get my butt running again.  I started training when they were 3 months old and they were 5 1/2 months when I ran it.

I had so much fun and it was worth all the sacrifice.  We were van 1 this year so we had to leave around 430 in the morning to make it to the starting line by 5:30.  It was raining and snowing when we started the race.  I am so glad I was runner 3 cause by then it had warmed up a little.  My first leg was only 4.5 miles and mostly downhill so I ran it in at a 8:35 min mile.  My second leg was 6.2 and it was the hills up at Redrock so my pace was a lot slower around a 10 min mile.  My third leg was 5.5 miles and it had up and down hills so again my pace was around a 10 min mile.

I have made it my new goal to run ragnar every year for as many years as this body will let me. It is seriously that much fun.

Mommy and Son Date

It's not often that I get out of the house with my four little men alone but today was a day I braved it.  I can only take so much of my house and sometimes I just need to have a change of scenery.  I needed to get some last minute things for the baby shower I was throwing my sister so I used that as an excuse to force me to get everyone ready and out the door.  We went to Toys R Us and Target and ended at In n Out for lunch.  My boys loved it and felt special to be having a "Mommy Date".

How can you not love those faces?

Big Boys

We have started going to the park every Tuesday morning and they have swings there that the twins love.  It seats two so it works perfect cause it helps to keep them sitting up.

They are 5 1/2 months now

Update on Life

Life has been kind of crazy these past couple of months, but isn't it always.  Here's the readers digest version of our life right now.

Trevor~ is still in law school.  He is in the middle of his second year.  He loves it even though it is challenging.  We are in the process of looking for a job for him next summer.  He studies all day and goes to school mostly at night.

Me ~I am getting a routine that works for me in order to get all the things I need to get done with five kids.  Now that Kaitlyn and Aidan are in school it is easier.  It is really not as bad as I was anticipating.  I truly love it.  Yes there are times I want to tear my hair out but for the most part they are awesome.  We have a good routine down with Trev being gone at night and they seem to like it.  I just got released from my calling as 1st counselor in the primary presidency.  It feels kind of weird to not have a calling but I am sure it will be short lived.  I have been training for the Ragnar race.  It's this upcoming weekend.  It has been tough since I have only had about 2 months to train but I know I will be glad I did it.  It has forced me to get back in shape after having my twins.  I run a total of 16 miles.  It's broken up into three different intervals over a 24 hour period,  It was a blast last year.

Kaitlyn~ She is in 2nd grade and doing so well. She is testing at a 4 1/2 grade level for reading and vocabulary comprehension.  She has always done well as school. It has come relatively easy for her.  She loves her teacher Ms. Simon and thinks she is the funniest person ever.  She has made two best friends.  Their names are Avery and Emma. She is my saving grace when it comes to being the mother of twins.  She is a natural little mother.  She does just about everything that I do.  She loves making them smile and she loves to read to them.  She is such a good big sister to all her brothers.  It is truly a blessing to be her mommy.  I love watching her grow into a compassionate, caring, independent individual.

Aidan~ He is in kindergarten.  He loves school.  He has an amazing teacher, Mrs. Cordner.  She tells me how much she enjoys having him in her class.  She says in all her years of teaching she has never has a student like Aidan.  She says almost everyday she goes home and says guess what Aidan said or did today.  He has a great imagination and if he doesn't understand something or know a word he will make it up and it usually sounds like it could be correct.  For example, he went to school one day and told his teacher he wouldn't be at school the next day.  She asked why and he said cause I am going to China to climb some mountains but he said the mountains name and she said it sounded like a name of what a mountain would be called over there.  He is so full of life.  He is just one of those kids who exudes happiness and joy.  He is always smiling...well when hes not whining.  He is starting to read good and starting to understand how to sound out words to write sentences.  He loves his little brothers and is such a snuggler and sensitive boy.  He loves to please people.  Sometimes he will empty the dishwasher and put all the dishes where they belong without me ever asking.  He is addictive to the Wii so I have to limit his playing time to and hour a day. If I let him he would play all day. He loves playing this batman Lego game he got for his birthday.

Corbin~Is my boy who has given me a run for my money.  I know it is because with me being pregnant with twins and with being tired on top of all my doctors appointments, he didn't get a lot of attention.  He watched TV a lot.  I already have a hard time with my kids from 2 to 3 because they want to be independent and defy you but they are not old enough to reason with so any discipline doesn't seem to work. So for about a year it is the battle of trying to get them to listen and follow directions with out beating them or having them live on their beds.  Anyways, luckily for me he is growing out of that stage. He now understands that it is better to listen and follow directions instead of getting the consequences that are likely to follow.  He is still a independent little boy but I feel like I can handle him now.  He is very smart when he wants to be.  His attention span is about 30 seconds but if you can catch him in a moment when he is actually sitting he will surprise you with what he knows.  He can count to 10 perfect and to 20 with only a few mess ups.  He can sing his ABC's, he know most of  his colors and shapes.  He is becoming and imaginative little kids when he is playing with his toys.  He is starting to love playing with anything superhero.  He loves Batman, Superman, and Spider man.  His new phrases he likes to say to me are....relax mom, your crazy, he hurt my heart (when a little boy hit him in the tummy).  I love this little boy.  I love this age.  I love watching him grow leaps in bounds in speech and understanding how the world works.

Davyn~ He is my little flirt.  If there is any cute girl he will make eyes at her and smile real big.  He is my happy boy.  He sleeps really well and I will walk into his room and he will just be chilling in his bed looking around but making no sounds.  He keeps his head up pretty good.  He loves his baby food.  His nickname is Chewy.  When he speaks he sounds like Chewbacca from Star Wars so Trev gave him that nickname.

Jade~  He is my chubby happy boy.  He is my thumb sucker.  None of my other kids were so of course my last one has to be.  It is in his mouth all day long. There is nothing I can do to stop it.  He loves his food.  He nickname is Frosty.  He can give you some pretty could stank faces so Trev gave him this name.  He holds his head up great and he rolls over all the time.  He sometimes even gets up on his back legs like he is going to crawl.  I have a feeling he will be a lot like KK.

I truly love being a mother even though right now it consumes my every waking moment but I know it is passing by way to quick so I am trying to enjoy the journey.

Potty Training

Corbin's potty training has been an off and on thing for the past month.  My other kids took two days to be full potty trained.  I haven't been very consistent with it so I am sure that doesn't help.  I just don't have any days in a row that I can devote to staying home exclusively.  There is always some shopping or carpooling that has to happen.  The problem is that when we are home he does great cause I let him run around naked.  He doesn't like being messy so he will make it to the toilet.  If he has any underwear on he will pee on himself.  Yes he still gets wet but it is more of a leak that spray.  There is where my dilemma lies.  I can't take him out naked.  I am hoping to buckle down over Christmas break and make it happen.

He is very proud of himself when he does make it to the toilet.

Stake Service Project

Our Stake had it's Annual Stake Day of Service.  This year we cleaned a big vacant lot downtown.  It was overran with weeds, trash, and tumbleweeds.  It was a good way to teach the kids to work and serve other people. It was hard work but the kids had fun.

Me with the twins ( I am holding Jade and Davyn is in the stroller). The twins slept the first 2 hours so I actually got to help but after that I got to watch everyone else while I held them.

We were there for over 3 hours but we could of been there for a whole day and still not of finished. My kids really liked it but were glad when we finally left.
