Christmas Party

This is the second year we have gone to Trev's friends Christmas party.  Last year I didn't go but the kids told me all about it.  At this Christmas party they have Santa Claus come and he has a present for every kid there with their name on it.  KK and Aidan were so excited that they got to meet the real Santa and they know it is cause he had a present with their name on it.  So needless to say they were really excited to go back this year.  Aidan didn't get to go because he was out of town for Crew's birthday.

She told him she wants a baby sister

I was surprised that Aidan actually sat on his lap

KK Student of the Month

At KK's school they have a assembly once a month to spotlight a child from each class.  Each month has a different quality they spotlight.  KK has been wanting to be Student of the Month since 1st grade but has never been chosen.  In the month of December, they were spotlighting children who had displayed the quality Respect and KK's teacher chose her.  She was beyond ecstatic and couldn't stop beaming.

I am so very proud of her.  She is truly a blessing in my life.  I am lucky to be her mommy.

Grandma's Slack Goodies

I remember as a child that Christmas time was always filled with making goodies.  My mom was the best at making all kinds of different goodies.  This is a tradition that I want to pass on to my children but being a mother of five small children, I don't have the energy to go all out, so lucky for me my mom still is.  We went over to Grandma's house one weekend and spent the day making different treats.  My mom and Trista even spoiled me by making me my favorite treat when I had no more energy left to cook.  They made me divinity.  Christmas is not complete without divinity, and no one makes it like my mom.

The kids had fun but they didn't last long before they lost interest and just wanted to play outside with the rest of their cousins.

Kids making chocolate covered pretzels and Reese's butter cups.

It was so fun and I hope this tradition continues for many years to come.

Scootie Potty Trained

We have succeeded finally.  I guess the third time is a charm.  I had tried two times previously but didn't last a day before I had quit.  I am a firm believer that if it takes more than a day they are not ready.  I know that it has more to do with me not being ready for the commitment but still that's my philosophy.

I woke up one morning to Corbin crying.  I walked into his room and he was on his bed with his diaper off telling me he needed to pee.  He went potty on the toilet and from then on he was potty trained.  Of course a few accidents here and there but by far the easiest child so far.  From that day on he was potty trained at night, too.  KK took over a year to not pee her bed at night after she was potty trained and Aidan still is not completely.  He still has accidents quite frequently.

Corbin is definitely my most stubborn child and he does things when he wants and how he wants to.  We had constant power struggle battles so its good he has such a cute face or he might not of survived this long.

Love this little monster!

Christmas Ornaments

Every year since KK was born we have gone to the store and let each child pick one ornament for the Christmas tree.  This year we went to Michael's and they enjoyed taking their time picking their perfect ornament.  The three older ones helped the twins pick their very first ornaments.

Kids Playing

Sometimes I forget to stop and take pictures of the day to day things.  I know as years pass those are the days I will cherish the most.  Here is a night at the Waite's home.

I love my family and am grateful for the few slow moments in our lives, I can stop and realize just how blessed I am.

Twins 6 months old

My babies are getting so big.  I truly want them to stay little for a very long time.  I am in no hurry for them to grow up, but they are doing just that.  I can not believe they are already 6 months old. They are growing and learning new things everyday.

Jade (he was not happy without his thumb so we left it)

This is the first picture we took and it was the only truly happy one we got of them together.

This was towards the end and Jade was so over it.

I love being the mommy of twins!!!

Family Pictures 2012

Just the thought of trying to take family pictures gives me anxiety, but I thought if we were already going to be taking pictures of the kids on Thanksgiving, I might as well try to get some of the whole family as well.  At least the kids will have something to show for what our family looked like.  His sister took some on my camera so again nothing professional but they definitely show our kids personalities.

Waite Grandkids

We had no pictures of all the 9 grandkids on the Waite side, so we thought while we were all together over Thanksgiving weekend we should try to get one.  It actually wasn't that bad.  We only did it for about 10 minutes but we got some cute ones (nothing professionally but many that truly capture who each child is)

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving this year was pretty low key...but those are always the best.  I don't remember exactly when but a few years back we stopped getting together with my side of the family for Thanksgiving.  It's not just my family but everyone just kind of started doing their own thing.  It is kind of sad but it does free up time for us to chill at home as a family and not be so rushed to get to so many places.

We hung out at home until noon then we headed to G Ma and Papa's house.  The kids spent the next few hours in the spa.  It was pretty nice outside and only in Vegas could you possible go swimming on Thanksgiving.

Then we ate a ton of food and then the kids dispersed and did their own thing with their cousins for the next couple of hours.

KK Thanksgiving Performance

KK's class put on a Thanksgiving performance at her school.  Of course, we were 5 minutes late cause Corbin had pooped in the bathtub, and the performance was over.  I had no idea the whole performance would only be 5 minutes.  KK saw us walk in as they literally were saying their last sentence.  She came up to me and buried her face in my stomach.  I could see it witten all over her face how sad she was that we had missed it.  She was so close to tears and I could see her fighting it.

Luckily for us her teacher is awesome and saw that we had missed it so she had them do the whole thing over again.  I was so grateful that day for her teacher.  Just another reason why I love her so much.

She did a great job and we are so proud of her and how well she is doing at school.
